How Did Boot Tan Get Started? 

In 2021, I orchestrated a naked ski lap in the backcountry with women only, for a brand photo shoot for Buck Wild Coffee.  It was silly and unbridled, yet 27 women showed up to partake, and the feeling of collective joy was the most profound experience any of us had ever felt. 

It stirred within me a realization that this was more than just a fleeting moment; it was the seed of something truly extraordinary.

From that realization sprang Boot Tan Fest—a festival born from the desire to capture and share that euphoric energy with others. Since its modest beginnings, the festival has flourished exponentially, each year doubling in size. Yet, it's important to note that Boot Tan Fest has transcended mere numbers; it's become an unparalleled celebration of women and femmes, fostering an atmosphere of safety, camaraderie, and pure authenticity.

What Makes Boot Tan Fest Special? 

What makes Boot Tan Fest truly special is not just its status as the world's largest naked ski lap (I still can’t believe I use that sentence so frequently), but rather its ability to strip away egos at the entrance, allowing courage and colorful personalities to blossom. 

It's an experience that defies explanation, one that must be felt to be truly understood. Each year, the festival serves as a joyous reunion, drawing together a diverse array of individuals from across the country and, increasingly, from around the world. Despite facing challenges like inclement weather, the enthusiasm for Boot Tan Fest remains unwavering, a testament to the profound impact it has on all who attend.
